I am glad to see someone is trying to do somethign about this serious lack of service in southern Illinois. I have waiting for years for broadband to reach my area south of Harrisburg. Verizon doesn't seem to be interested, and apparently satellite service is not what it is cracked up to be in the TV ads. Criticism of satellite ervice providers is rife, specifically that if one were to download large files within, say, a one day period, one's service woudl be slowed to dial-up speeds for several days after due to "Fair Use" policies.
It has become impossible to update software due to extreemly long download times on dialup, and one can ALWAYS expect to be kicked off before a four-hour download is finished.
